Al Mahad Al Islami; An introduction Al Mahad al Islami is an educational institute which has been founded by an Islamic scholar Dr Syed Rashid Naseem Nadvi and named by the great Islamic thinker Moulana Syed Abul Hasan Ali Nadvi (rhm). The institute located in Hyderabad, has been serving since 1999.at present there are one hundred students being educated by seven faculties at its premise, among them almost eighty percent are residential students staying on the campus. The world premire Islamic educational institute of Lucknow Darul ulum Nadwa tul ulama has affiliated and recognized this institute as one of its branches. Darul ulum nadwatul ulama is well known for its exelence in education since the later part of 19th century and it has been significantly contributing in the field of learning and has secured a prominent place in the world of Islamic education. The motto of Nadwa has not only been educating and developing understanding but also reformulating the curriculum of Islamic sciences. So in addition to enhancing learning and promoting scholarship ,this syllabus and curriculum also address the challenge of economic progress among its participants. Al Mahad Al Islami has adopted the syllabus and curriculum of Nadwa tul ulama as a model and on the basis of its specific needs, the institute has made few modifications in the basic curricular model practiced in by AL Mahad Islami. Giving main emphasis on Islamic education, the institute has introduced modified courses of four years hifz (memorazation of Holy Quran ) and five years Alimiah, in this system of education students will be able to join metric after Hifz and graduation after completing Alimiah . Therefore the additional courses integrated to this programs are: English, regional languages, environmental sciences, math, computer studies.It is expected that students passing out from this institute will be able to participate in Islamic and religious affairs. Keeping this expectation in view special courses in Arabic will be desinged and included in future. Location : It is a matter of great pleasure that the institute has its own premise, late Mohammad Khurshid Ali who was one of the Mahad trusties, put his best efforts for the acquisition of the land where the institute is located and also he donated a share/ part of his land to the institute. The institute is situated in Shaik pet a geographically important place surrounded by MAANU, HCU, And Hi- tech city. Moreover the shrine of 12th century great Islamic scholar Maulana Hussain Shah Wali is adjacent to the institute. The magnificent mosque founded by Maulana Hussain Shah wali which has not been used for four hundred years is now vibrant with students and teachers engaged in performing Salah , reciting Quran, praying and doing itekaaf. Maulana Syed Mohammed Rabe Hasani Nadwi, Chancallor of Nadwatul Ulama and president of Muslim personal law board, has laid down the foundation stone of the institute on the same location on 18 February 2001. At present the institute has a capacity of accommodating eighty students but the growing interest in the institute necessities that the institute extends the current facility and makes a third floor on the existing building which is possible to accomplish only through generous contributing from the people concerned. Plan of shah waliullah library At the west of the premises foundational stone for Shah Wali Ullah library has been laid down.In the presence of maulana syed salman Nadwi,secratery faculty of Sharya , Nadwatul Ulama , Late Maulana Hamiduddin Husami Aqil (rhm) and Naeemullah khan, Amir jamatul tutableeg. The plan of shah waliullah library is not only to build a building and to collect and store books but also to construct a center for academicals and research activities and to prepare young scholars who will serve mankind on the base of Islamic values.This cannot be achieved by providing infrastructure alone but it requires dedication, commitment, and contribution from all concerns. The management of Al-mahad Al Islami is planning to build a building for the said library which will consist of halls for books collection , conference room , seminar hall and accommodations for scholars.
